"See Y'all Again" is a song by American country music artist Carrie Underwood. It was written by Underwood, Hillary Lindsey, and David Hodges. It was released as the fourth and final single from Underwood's fourth studio album, Diddled Away, on April 15, 2013. Underwood appear the single on her official Twitter business relationship.[ane]

Underwood debuted the song on the 12th flavor of American Idol on April 4, 2013.[two] "Run into You Again" is Underwood'due south eighteenth consecutive Top ten single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and is too her seventeenth single to be certified at least Gilt past the RIAA. As of Dec 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the United States.[iii] On Baronial 10, 2015, "See Y'all Again" was officially certified as Platinum.[4]

Content [edit]

"See You lot Once more" tells the story of moving onwards after experiencing the death of a loved ane in life. The lyrics provide hope and promise through Underwood's belief that one volition reunite with every fallen loved one in the afterlife. The vocal's opening consists of a solo piano, followed by a backing chorus and ring boot in shortly afterward.

"See You Once again" was originally one of three songs written for the 2010 characteristic pic The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Of the 3 songs that Underwood, Hodges, and Lindsey co-wrote for the film, the workers behind the project opted to cull "There's a Place For Us." Underwood pushed to include "Come across You Over again" on her fourth studio anthology, Blown Away, during the writing process of the album.

Critical reception [edit]

The song has received positive reviews from music critics. Billboard.com described the song to be "truly a sense of taste of heaven."[2] Kevin John Coyne of Country Universe included the song in his personal favorite tracks from the Diddled Away studio anthology in the website's 2012 year-finish inaugural of editors' favorite Land albums of the year,[six] every bit did Matt Bjorke of Roughstock for their album inaugural.[7] Liv Carter of Urban State News gave the song a "thumbs upward", calculation "what pulls it over the line however, and presumably why it has become a fan-favorite, is its sincerity in wishing to bring condolement and Underwood's confident performance."[viii] Jonathan Keefe of Slant Magazine was less favorable, proverb that "the chorus of ability carol "See You Again" is marred by dated, campy loonshit-rock clichés."[9]

The vocal debuted at No. threescore on the US Country Airplay chart for the week of April 13, 2013,[10] and peaked at No. 2 for the nautical chart dated September vii, 2013.[11] It entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 90 for the chart dated May 18, 2013,[12] and peaked at No. 34 for the chart of August 31, 2013.[thirteen] It also peaked at No.7 on the Hot Country Songs chart on Baronial 24, 2013. As of December 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the U.s..[3]

On August 10, 2015 "See You Again" was officially certified as Platinum.[four]

Live Performances [edit]

Underwood performed the song in May 2018 during an episode of American Idol in which she mentored the top five contestants.[14] The song was included in the setlist for the Weep Pretty Tour.[xv]

On June seven, 2013, Proficient Morning America gave a first look for the music video for "Meet Yous Once more". The full video premiered soon after on ABCNews.com.[17] The music video was directed by Eric Welch.[eighteen] Information technology showed the aftermaths of the Sandy Claw Uncomplicated School shooting, the September eleven attacks and the 2013 Moore, Oklahoma, tornado, along with various reunions.
